How do you fix a PlayStation that is not turning on?

If your PlayStation is not turning on it could be multiple issues, but we'll walk you through some steps to bring it back to life.

Try resetting your internal power supply unit:
- Unplug the power cord from the console.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Plug the cord back into the console, and then press the power button on the front of the console.

How do I force restart my PlayStation?

There is a way to force your PlayStation to shut down by doing the following:
- Try pressing and holding the power button on the front of the console down for 10 seconds, releasing it only after the device shuts down. You should hear the device power off.
- Disconnect the power cable and wait for an additional 10 seconds, then reconnect the power and turn the console back on.

How do I know if my external power supply has gone bad?

A solid orange or white light indicates the power supply is working properly. If there is no light or it flickers, it needs to be replaced.

Why is my PlayStation turning on but the screen is black?

There could be various issues that cause this.  Here are a few options to try before contacting us for repair:

Try recovering the connection to your display:
 - Turn off the TV, and the Console.
 - Unplug All connections, and plug back in using the following order: HDMI from console to TV, TV power cable, Console to power.
 - Turn your TV on.
 - Turn your Console on.

If this doesn't work, try another HDMI cable.  If no luck, then contact us for your repair options.
